About me
After an education in fine art, I qualified as a Chartered Landscape Architect and ran my own design practice in the UK for a number of years. My chief interest however lay in painting and drawing, so about 25 years ago I shifted the focus of my work to full-time illustration, mostly (though not exclusively) of motoring and transport-related subjects.
At my studio in rural Perthshire I paint original art for sale and also for a wide range of commercial products including wall art, fabrics, giftware, greeting cards, stationery and packaging.
I also supply watercolour artwork for newspapers and magazines. The New Statesman alone has published more than 350 of my painted images over a period of eight years. Other publications in which my artwork features regularly include English Heritage Magazine and the Civil Service magazine Boundless.
Artwork commissioned from several top greeting card publishers forms another strand of my day-to-day workload.
I’m a huge vintage sports and racing car enthusiast having owned, raced and maintained classic Morgans. There’s more about my motoring art on the database of motoring artists www.motoringart.info
